This is Day Two of the two-day hike in the Meaford area, and we
are joined by Madeleine and Kent who meet us at the start.
Steve had informed us last night he was not going to be hiking
today because 22 k was too far. But when he drove up to the start to drop Jacob
off he has had a change of heart. His knee is feeling better – perhaps lubricated
by last night’s medicinal rye.
A new re-route at the start of today’s hike (the landowner’s livestock
are being harassed by hikers’ dogs) means that we end up omitting the re-route
along the River Kwai Side Trail and travel the same distance on a parallel
course along St. Vincent-Sydenham Townline Road.
The hike ends at Bognor Marsh Management Area, with and impressive
series of boardwalks, observation platforms and interpretive panels.
